Call For Volunteers
Come help us develop new programming and welcome the Brown family to their ancestral home!
Saturday, July 21st, 2018
This summer, the John Brown Heritage Foundation is seeking volunteers for our “Old Fashioned Family Reunion” trial programming as we host the 75th Annual Brown Family Reunion!
The Brown Homestead is the ancestral home of the Brown family. It is a rare treat for a family to be able to connect with its history in such a tangible way, and we are grateful we can provide that opportunity.
Along with making the day fun and relaxing, we also want it to be an engaging and educational experience. It is another chance to showcase how this piece of Niagara history is being conserved and how it will be adapted to benefit the community as an innovative leader in creative education!
We are looking for a few fun-loving volunteers to help us bring the site to life on July 21st, 2018. Shifts will range from 4-8 hours and will consist of the following roles:
All Day Event Support
Game and Activity Leaders
Interactive House Tour Leaders
“Your Family Today” Video Station
We are happy to work with your availability to find you a suitable role. There will be two 2-hour training sessions, either on the two weekends before the event or on two weeknights, subject to everyone’s availability. Refreshments will be provided for all and lunch will be provided for those working 6 or more hours. If you are unavailable the day of the event, we are also looking for a few support volunteers in the lead-up to the event.
If you would like to join us, please email our Project Manager, Theresa Felicetti, at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call the JBHF office at (905) 328-1646. We can’t wait to hear from you!
